In another time I did used to farm, and play. I did both. Right now I usually stand around Shing Jea for 95% of my time, there might be 1% time of farming for events (like Halloween) and then the rest of the time might be spent doing RA, or Costume Brawl or Snowball Arena or Dragon Arena. But usually it's just me in Shing Jea for now.

Both...mostly farm though but will do missions and quests when so inclined. I still need to get characters through nightfall for treasure hunting.

Last time I actually farmed was maybe last November. Other then that all I do is work on titles with the occasional dungeon or something. None of the repetative farming I get too bored.

Farming bores my mind. So, I play. Do missions, do PvP, test builds...
And even if I don't farm, I still get bored of GW once in a while. In that case, I know that I already played too much and take a break to return in force a bit later.

play, farming is just too .......repetitive for me to do more than 2 times in a role (I tried over the halloween event for the termite legs et.al. after one run I just cant do it again).

I have 16 characters that I play regularly, they have goals (like finishing all their quests, getting prot, mapping, etc). and if I get tired of one area I play a different character in another one for the time being.

no reason to farm either (dont need fancy weapons, or fow--its ugly).

I am too busy playing to waste my time on farming. I did 4 raptor runs in a row once.... Never again.

I play in that I always clear every campaign and I play for max titles on the reputations that effect skills (sunspear, lightbringer, pve title tracks, etc.) and then I PvP.

Once I have most of the PvE taken care of on a character, I farm, or run elite content (which is actually quite profitable in itself, even in balanced non-speed teams). I generally aim for ~100k every 2-3 days as that is about as much as I spend on new gear.

I disagree on the economy bit.

As for playing and farming - I do both. These last 10 days have been farming days for me and I suspect for a lot of people too. With my modest farm time during these past days, I've accumulated over 600k worth of drops, items and ToT bags. From my perspective, that's a helluva lot of gold since I don't have anything to spend it on. This event being over, I can now return to my regular schedule - running around capping elites and HM missions with my dear ele.

So, in conclusion: playing = yes, farming = only during events.

Why would you farm if you have no intention to play the actual game? this question makes no sense.
Unless of course you find farming fun, which is just stupid...

Play only, some solo-farming for festival items (2 hours/week max)

Certain people find certain things fun.

I personally see 0 point in maxing titles on things that don't give you an edge, so once I have all the campaigns primaries beaten, all the skills, all the heroes, maxed heroes, etc. I just farm. I find it fun. Not to mention how many people do you see with heroes running around in tormented shields and high end weapons?

I think I am running out of ways to spend my gold... already throwing it into FoW and elite armor sets I won't use and upgrading all my heroes to elite skinned items... bleh this game is too casual.

You need a balance between farming and playing.
I was getting tired of the title grind so the last couple of weeks I've been farming and running UW SC way too much...

I guess farming is required though because some of the titles cost you an arm and a leg to buy outright. So I was farming as many Grogs and ToTs as I could to cut down on that expense. Other than that the raptors & veattirs {sp} are a nice source of golds for wisdom. Black and white dyes, lockpicks and the occasional nice upgrade from them also helps.

UW SC farming was another matter altogether... The hope of getting an eblade will make you run in there with a fail-PuG 100 times a day, lol. Glad I'm over it
I'll go on guild runs but I don't see myself PuGGing there again soon.

(Oh, this post assumes title grinding = playing the game)

I do both.

I don't farm as much as I play normally, but I do farm every once in a while. But I'm also counting things like "clear Flame Temple Corridor" as farming -- going out with a level 20 character with the sole intention of killing things for trophies (Charr Carvings in that area, obviously).

Short farming runs bore me to death. The raptor nestling run in normal mode is something I can only do once or twice (but it's better in hard mode). I can't even imagine doing HFFF. But going out to clear an area takes some time, and I can do this with just about any high level character, so there's more variety than the short, typical farming runs.

And yes, I find farming fun. I occasionally enjoy the mindless gameplay.

I PLAY PvP.

I PLAY missions and dungeons when guildies need help or when I feel like helping others.

I FARM only during special weekends when Halloween items drop or Grogs.

I AFK in the GuildHall otherwise.

OK, let me defend some of the farmers. I am a hardcore raptor farmer. Most of my GW time is spent killing the same 30 raptors and boss over and over to save up money to buy everlasting tonics and other "epeen" stuff. Is that lame? Sure it is. Is it any lamer than playing the same game of solitaire or tetris over and over again? Let's not kid ourselves, almost every GW quest is pretty much killing mobs of monsters over and over again. How much different is that than farming?

The reality is that I don't really have a lot of uninterrupted time to devote to a quest. At any time I might have to stop what I am doing to and walk away from my computer to deal with my family. That rules out a lot of various GW activities unfortunately.

Yes, extremely. If solitaire always had the same cards in the exact same order, then they would be equally as lame.

You can't do quests more then once per character, unless they are repeatable, in which case your probably only farming them anyway.

The real reality is that you can do 90% of PvE with only Heroes and Henchmen, which means your frequent interruptions don't matter one bit. You could do anything in GW that everyone else can do if you wanted to, but it sounds more like your trying to find excuses for enjoying farming rather then just saying you enjoy farming.

Obviously I enjoy it or I wouldn't be doing it.
